Daniel Burbano specializes in dynamical systems and control theory, focusing on distributed network systems, collective animal behavior, swarm intelligence, and robot autonomy. Before joining Rutgers in the fall of 2022, he held a Provost's postdoctoral fellowship at NYU and was a postdoctoral associate at Northwestern University. Dr. Burbano earned his Ph.D. in Computer and Control Engineering in 2015 from the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. He holds a M.Sc. in Industrial Automation and a B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering, both degrees conferred by the National University of Colombia in 2012 and 2010, respectively.
